That’s a 26 percent completion rate for our region!
All together everyone (all 70 of us) write 648,000 words collectively!
Our region’s Final Write-In will be Sunday, Nov. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Jamani Java on Ireland Grove Road in Bloomington www.jamanijava.com
The coffeehouse has wifi — so if you need to download your manuscript for an official word count, you can do it there. Please it’s relatively quiet and there’s room to spread out. And the coffee is good!
Hope to see you there!
Get ready to rev up those keyboards! Our next write-in is Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Bloomington Public Library from 2 to 4. We will be in the meeting room downstairs.
Hope you’re getting lots of words churned out before the Thanksgiving holidays! Of course, you can always have the good excuse of needing to leave the relatives for keeping up on your daily word count.
Our next Write-In is Thursday, Nov. 13 at Jamani Java, 3703 Ireland Grove Rd. in Bloomington from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (www.jamanijava.com)
The coffeeshop is farther east than State Farm South and is near the golf practice area and the soccer fields.
Wea also have the following Write-Ins scheduled
- Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the coffeehouse on GE Road in Bloomington.
- Sunday, Nov. 23 at Bloomington Public Library
- Sunday Nov. 30 Final Write-In
We now have 67 people on our Regional Forum. Wow!
Hope everyone is doing a great job keeping writing!
If you were at the Kick-off Meeting in October, you saw one of our experienced NaNo writers show us how he used the software program Scriveners to write his novel. The program is a cool way to organize ideas and put together a long novel. (It’s only available for Mac users with OS X 10.4 or higher.) This link has a 15% off coupon for the program.
The article from MacWorld also has other great ideas about working on your NaNo novel with advice from experienced NaNowriters.
A very long list of links to resources for writers that’s been compiled by the writers of the Naperville NaNoWriMo and their group that meets throughout the year: West Suburban Writers. Some links still work, others do not. But lots of places for ideas. Check it out!
Some of material that I handed out at the first Write-In can be found at this page on the McSweeney’s website.
